Affinity Becomes Twenty-Sixth Medicaid Health Plan to Select TriZetto's Facets Administrative Software
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – July 20, 2006 – The TriZetto Group Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) announced that Affinity Health Plan has purchased its Facets Extended Enterprise(TM) administrative system to help it efficiently manage the demands of the growing Medicaid market. Serving members in the New York Metropolitan area, Affinity is the twenty-sixth Medicaid health plan to select Facets, which is now used to process medical transactions for approximately 25 percent of the managed Medicaid market and 16 percent of the Medicare Advantage market.
"Affinity Health Plan's mission is to provide quality healthcare coverage to New Yorkers regardless of their ability to pay," said Barbara Kelman, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Affinity Health Plan. "We are hopeful that Facets' strong core functionality, as well as TriZetto's ongoing support and training, will help us become more efficient as an organization and help us better serve the special needs of our members."
According to Tony Bellomo, executive vice president of TriZetto's software unit, Medicaid and Medicare plans face unique administrative and IT challenges due to the need to comply with government regulations.
"Facets is the healthcare industry's leading claims and benefit administration solution for both government and commercial markets," said Bellomo. "We've designed Facets to be highly efficient, automated, and flexible, to help our customers tackle new business and compete successfully in a dynamic industry. That's why we've been able to establish such a large base of Medicaid and Medicare customers, and why our business continues to grow in these critical areas."
