TriZetto to Provide Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield With Integrated HealthWeb/Erisco Facets Solution

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – March 15, 2001 – The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX) announced today that it has signed an agreement to provide Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem BCBS) with an integrated solution combining TriZetto's HealthWeb(R) e-business Web platform and the Erisco Facets(R) payer administrative solution.

"TriZetto's integrated HealthWeb/Facets system is emerging as the 'solution of choice' for Blue Cross Blue Shield plans looking to bring their businesses online," says Gail Knopf, chief operating officer of TriZetto's HealthWeb unit. "Facets is already used by 27 percent of Blues plans around the country. By choosing HealthWeb, these plans can achieve a seamless integration with their existing systems, as well as speed-to-market in implementing a complete e-business solution."

"Integrating HealthWeb with our Facets system will fulfill growing demand among our members to interact with their health plan online, as well as better serve our providers, brokers and employer groups," says Mark Boxer, Anthem's senior vice president of eBusiness. "This allows us to leverage our existing technology while achieving our long-range Web strategies and goals."

Anthem BCBS currently uses Facets to administer benefits for 300,000 Midwest members. In the coming months, these members will be served by the integrated HealthWeb/Facets system. As additional members are moved to the integrated system, they will also benefit from the HealthWeb transactions.

"HealthWeb's ability to connect and interface with multiple legacy systems is another key advantage," Knopf says. "This allows health plans to present a 'single face' to their constituents, regardless of their underlying administrative configurations."

TriZetto's HealthWeb platform will allow Anthem BCBS to rapidly move to a Web-based business model for numerous transactions among the plan and its members, physicians, employers and brokers. The first phase to be brought online will focus on member services and transactions, including eligibility and coverage inquiry, and ID card requests, among others. Later this year, members, physicians and other providers will enjoy additional online services and transactions via HealthWeb.
