The Utilization Management component eliminates redundant entry of key information and verifies that the services being paid have been approved. The component can manage any type of service-for example, an inpatient stay or a specific procedure-for any setting. Users can create specific episodes, linked on the case, for the types of services required in the treatment period. Referral and authorization data from external sources can be accepted and linked to a claim payment automatically. Direct episodes of care/treatment, as well as continued treatment requests for those episodes also can be established and linked.
